Big Horn County Democratic Party Platform 2026  

As patriotic Americans, we proudly support policies for the following and the freedoms they provide:  

Economy  

• Build an economy that rewards hard work with affordable health care, food, housing, and  ensure equitable taxation 

• Support worker safety, rights, and livable wages 

• Diversify our Wyoming economy 

• Protect the independence of the Federal Reserve 

• Support continuation of established banking regulations under Dodd-Frank 

Health Care  

• Support the rights of all individuals to make their own health care decisions • Support the scientific healthcare community 

• Protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security from privatization, reduction, and  elimination 

• Ensure affordable physical and mental health care and accessible prescription medication  for all  

Education  

• Support the use of public funds for public education only 

• Provide greater support of libraries and public schools, including technical and trade  programs 

• Support the professional education community 

• Promote safety to protect staff and students 

• Protect current funding and laws for special needs students 

Law and Order  

• Support the U.S. Constitution and our constitutional democracy 

• Support the rights of legal, responsible gun owners 

• Support due process for all regardless of status 

• Support adequate funding and training for law enforcement and the personnel who assist  them 

• Encourage democratic, peaceful international alliances 

• Encourage Congress to exercise its constitutional duty 

Immigration  

• Support reasonable, humane laws with adequate funding to protect and secure our borders • Support immigration reform, including a safe, affordable, timely pathway to citizenship 

Elections  

• Support the voting rights of all eligible citizens, including the use of mail-in ballots; oppose  voter suppression 

• Support fair and legitimate elections 

Environment  

• Support the diversification of energy sources 

• Keep public lands in public hands under responsible management 

• Support science-based environmental policy to ensure a sustainable environment
